Honestly, does this surprise anyone? Golden Gate Park was trashed during annual pot party.

After all, if you live with your mom, and she does your laundry and cleans your room (or in the alternative, you put a "stay out" sign on it and never let her in), you never learn to fend for yourself.

"San Francisco park workers and volunteers spent much of Sunday picking up and hauling away 10,000 pounds of garbage strewn all over the eastern part of Golden Gate Park known as Hippie Hill, the remnants of Saturday’s annual yet unofficial pot-smoking bacchanalia."

"Hippie Hill," hilarious!

Meanwhile, the people who have to live next to the park, and who in this case are " In loco parentis,"
sound just like the missing parent.

"Dan Kling, a nearby resident who was playing in the park with his 2 1/2-year-old daughter Sunday, was disgusted. Kling, 39, said he didn’t have an issue with the event, just with what was left behind.
“If you can’t be responsible for yourselves, you can’t have a party,” he said."
At least, and unlike the same kind of event in Colorado, this one was basically peaceful.  Quite a contrast between the culture here, and the one displayed at a Tea Party rally, where the public spaces are left cleaner than when the Tea Partiers came.   A more accurate understanding of the true meaning of "public space" for sure is with the Tea Party people rather than the Happy Hippies.
