  1. George Armstrong Custer might have something to say about Cheyennes on horseback if he'd survived. I suspect that the same can be said for many pilgrims who met them back before the army had pacified them, the buffalo hunters slaughtered their livelihoods, and the white man's European diseases killed 75% of them.

    1. I think it was smallpox that got 100% of the Mandans. A noble people and a heavy loss for the civilized world.
