Water, water, everywhere - plus lots of mud!

Thanks to a link from Pops, I can post a couple of great pictures of water coming over the emergency spillway at Lake Oroville.  Thanks Pops!

A thin sheet like that is no problem.  Two or three feet ( the lake was rising a foot every two hours while it was raining) might be a problem.  We'll know by the end of the day.

This picture, with the lake at capacity behind the spillway, is kind of spooky.  Everything otherwise looks ok, though.

  1. My pleasure! It will be interesting to see how long that road embankment lasts. Water is already undercutting it, or perhaps they thought to install a culvert. Someone suggested on one news-site that clearer (warmer) weather will increase the snow-melt in the mountains - so no relief yet, then. This is one to keep an eye on.
