A guy on a forum I frequent posted this picture of some bullets he cast. Too pretty to shoot, in my opinion!

    1. I got some I bought, but I don't cast - yet. One of these days, when I have some extra time, I'm sure I'll get into it. Just one more of those things you'd like to do with more time.

    2. Just one more chip in my bag of reasons why we left Kalif.
They banned the use of lead tire weights. There was a time when you could get a 5 gallon bucket full of used ones for the asking. I brought a coupla hundred pounds along when we moved to Texas. People give me a funny look when I tell them, I reply that I was still pissed.

Started casting in the late '70's because I shot in competition. I really enjoy it, but it does take time. There is a much greater commercial availability now. Those sure are some pretty bullets. I wonder if his recipe is similar to the one used by Oregon Trail.

  2. Wow, those are some beauties! Look like silver bullets to shoot werewolves.

I don't cast, but I shoot a lot of hard cast bullets. It's surprising how well they work. My 1911A1 likes them better than hardball. I also use them in .32 ACP, .32 S&W Long, .32 Magnum, .380 ACP, .38/.357 Magnum and .44 Magnum. I haven't done any rifle calibers yet, but I'd like to try some in .308 and .338................

    1. I like in that picture that there is what appears to be a Rockchucker and an American flag in the background. Classic!

    2. Cool. I was so enamored of the slugs that I missed the flag and press...
