Bucking the trend by returning freedom to the people, Texas begins the process of removing the state from the business of banning knives.

Like every other state should.  Governments are far too involved with citizen's choices and business, and should cut back their nosiness by a minimum of 50%.

Carry the knife you want without worrying about getting the government's permission.  Next up, nationwide constitutional carry.

  1. First - nice knife. Do you know what type steel?

Second - I keep a tomahawk. Axes are legal in all 50 states. Knives are banned in Russia, not axes. AND anyone who has seen a tomahawk in action understands that it makes a machete look tame. In the medieval world, war hammers, axes, etc. were prized because they worked. They still work. (RMJ Forge - they're expensive but they work very well) Thus the state wants to eliminate a 6" blade belt knife, but don't ban butcher knives or tomahawks.

And what killed Goliath? Maybe they need to ban rawhide and smooth river pebbles too.

  2. Don't know what kind of steel, but it looks like carbon, maybe 1095. Patina, it's all the rage, you know.

I'm there on the tomahawk thing. An axe with a little mass and weight to it is an impressive tool for close in, wet work.

  3. I could never understand the logic of banning knives while allowing firearms. As far as I'm concerned, we should be able to walk down the street with a pistol (or long gun) and sword. Crime would absolutely plummet!
