Something you'll never see analyzed in the MSM: Blue states getting redder, and Red states also getting redder.

In short, among the truly contested states in 2016, the only ray of hope for the Democrats is Colorado, and even there, the trends have flattened some. They have stabilized New Jersey and Delaware, but Republicans continue to gain significant ground in Arizona, New Mexico, Florida, North Carolina, Iowa, Nevada, and above all, Pennsylvania. If these trends continue through 2020, Florida would have a slight Republican registration edge, North Carolina would be nearly even, and New Mexico would be close enough that it could never be taken for granted. Moreover, Pennsylvania and Iowa would be solid Trump states.

The remarkable thing about the Republican trending states is that they have moved steadily ever since last November, in almost every case without a single break. Democrats continue to lose voters, and they are not becoming independents. All of this appears to be due to Trump and Trump alone, as the Republican Party has not offered any reasons to embrace it.

The reasons this might be happening would be fascinating to discover.  I can offer some thoughts.

Maybe the cultural Marxism being pushed hard in our schools and in media is contributing.  Maybe normal people aren't interested in being lectured about their privilege, or told that they are evil, awful people by the simple virtue of the color of their skin?

Might it be that normal people are sick of being told that their country is the source of all evil in the world?

Maybe normal folk are noticing how the leviathan government is trying its best to make everyone a ward of the state, and to stamp out notions of self reliance?

Could it be that normal people are sick and tired of having to go to the government for permission to do anything at all to improve themselves or their communities, and then get charged a healthy fee to even ask?

Maybe?  Could be?

During the Vietnam War there were a lot of communists in the US. CPUSA was on the rise. And the liberals killed it with their strident whining and marching. The hippie movement died. Now only Roseanne Barr is a communist and she ran for US President for that party, but nobody noticed.

Today the liberals are destroying their movement because decent people don't buy what they're selling. We saw the Democrat Party diminish under Obama and the Republicans swept into office. The Tea Party was composed of decent people. I participated in several Tea Party demonstrations including the one near Harry Reid's house at Searchlight NV. I was there, standing near Palin and Breitbart. The people where were courteous and sincere.

The pendulum is moving and the stock market is over 23000.

  2. There's little doubt all your points contribute to the trend. Thank you for stepping in to cover the gap in coverage by the MSM.

My favorite is your "Maybe the cultural Marxism being pushed hard in our schools and in media is contributing". It's as if the more virtuously we behave (reduce divorce rate, work hard, bulk up our civility in public behavior and generosity for fellow Americans in distress, the more we're called racist. And if speakers and writers even mention such values in public venues, it's called White Supremacist and hate speech by progressive institutions like SPLC.

  3. My two cents worth.....I don't want to use the DOW as an indicator of the conservative improvement in this country. I would rather we concentrate on the improvement in the moral attitude of the citizens. Moral in the way that people are standing up for the traditional American ideals that have been codified in the Constitution. Moral in the way that we don't brook that s*** the NFL players or the antifa players are pushing. Moral in the way that eventually the justice system will catch up and put the gang of hillary's in jail.
Also, now that the gestalt of the nation is slowly awakening, I would like to see a renewal of the education system. A return to the basic's, like the three R's with some civics thrown in.

  4. As a resident of NC we are mostly "unaffiliated" and that is probably the largest voting block in the state.

  5. It's funny how the liberal/coastal elite fail to notice this. As we all know, it's because they surround themselves with only those like them and watch 'entertainment' from likemind fellow travelers and just assume that everybody is just like them, decent communists who are trying to make a better world. Idiots like them aren't even noticing.
